Album

More Songs About Buildings and Food is the second studio album by the American rock band Talking Heads, released in July 1978 and the first of a string of three co-produced by Brian Eno. When the Ramones and Talking Heads toured Europe in the spring of 1977, Johnny Ramone was annoyed by seemingly everything. And of course, the James Brown tapes that Talking Heads bassist Tina Weymouth played on the bus. The band's blend of funk, bubblegum, country, reggae and punk influences, with David Byrne's voice, established the group as a critical success, reaching 29 in the US Billboard Pop Albums chart and 21 in the UK Albums Chart. If the band's sound seems more conventional, the reason simply may be that one had encountered the odd song structures, staccato rhythms, strained vocals, and impressionistic lyrics once before. This is pretty much a beginners album to get into the Talking Heads. 11 tracks 42:01. Talking Heads - Thank You For Sending Me An Angel. Overall I would give this album a 45. The band's blend of funk, bubblegum, country, reggae and punk influences, with David Byrne's voice, established the group as a critical success, reaching 29 in the US Billboard Pop Albums chart and 21 in the UK Albums Chart. On More Songs about Buildings and Food, David Byrne sings the word feelingssssss with a puppys yelp that turns into a snaky hiss. Even the ostensibly jubilant Thank You for Sending Me an Angel hurtles to an abrupt coitus interruptus: But first, show me what you can do . More Songs About Buildings and Food is the second studio album by American rock band Talking Heads, released on July 14, 1978 by Sire Records. Talking Heads - The Good Thing. It was the first of three albums produced by collaborator Brian Eno, and saw the band move toward a danceable style, crossing singer David Byrne's unusual delivery with new emphasis on the rhythm section composed of bassist Tina Weymouth and drummer Chris Frantz. Here is another outstanding deep cut from the 20th century. Talking Heads. It was the first of three albums produced by collaborator Brian Eno, and saw the band move toward a danceable style, crossing singer David Byrne's unusual delivery with new emphasis on the rhythm section composed of bassist Tina Weymouth and drummer Chris Frantz. The second Talking Heads album in their discography, and a very important one, the Talking Heads would work with Brian Eno to develop a more electronic sound. If the band's sound seems more conventional, the reason simply may be that one had encountered the odd song structures, staccato rhythms, strained vocals, and impressionistic lyrics once before. The cerebral, brittle sound of Talking Heads: 77 has been fleshed out with supple synthesizer fills, and Chris Frantz drums and the synthesized percussion leap boldly out of the mix. Since my free to Talking Heads More Songs About Buildings and Food Thank You for Sending Me an Angel, With Our Love and more. Through the first nine tracks, More Songs was the successor to 77, which would not have earned it landmark status or made it the commercial breakthrough it became. It isn't the greatest that they have to offer, but is still a very solid rock record, and is worthy of a spot on the Rolling Stone top 500. Talking Heads - With Our Love. The title of Talking Heads' second album, More Songs About Buildings and Food, slyly addressed the sophomore record syndrome, in which songs not used on a first LP are mixed with hastily written new material. It was the last two songs that pushed the album over those hurdles. Almost every cut has a percussive gimmick - handclaps, clattering rim shots, a heavily echoed backbeat - that rivets the attention, punctuating the melody or hammering home the words

A great re-issue! Flat, quiet and sounds great. I actually enjoyed the bass characteristic.

MISPRINT?? Label A2 "With Our Love," jacket typo "With Your Love."
Steamy Ibis
Right, I have the same misprint.

Weird, mine doesn't have the silver RTI sticker, but It IS the R1 6058, fo sho.
Prinna
The bass on this is a bit muddy, but its a quiet press. Found a job is a song I always get lost in Tina's bass line, but it just wasn't quite as smooth as I've heard on other versions.Stay Hungry is another good example, sounds more boom boxy than buttery bass.
