Music video by Lorde performing Pure Heroine Album Sampler. C 2013 Universal Music NZ Heroine is the debut studio album by New Zealand singer Lorde, which was released through Universal, Lava, and Republic Records on 27 September 2013. After several unsuccessful sessions with songwriters, Lorde was paired with Joel Little by A&R representative Scott Maclachlan, who assisted with the album's production. Recording took place at Golden Age Studios in Auckland. Pure Heroine has been described as a dream pop, electronica and electropop album with minimalist production, deep bass and. Album 2013 10 Songs. Lorde-captured the top of the pop charts with the smart and wise-beyond-her-years single Royals, where she trashes modern pop and hip-hops obsession with materialism in favor of a world of love, friendship, and ideas. Its the best Morrissey song he never wrote. Her earlier The Love Club EP primed audiences for what theyd be hearing, but nothing could prepare one for the actual excitement of her debut albums best cuts. Pure Heroine is Lordes debut studio album. Its themes cover adolescence, and the effects of fame. The albums musical aspect is generally downbeat and somber, avoiding typical pop happiness and danceability. This is more a Friday-night-alone than tunes being blasted at a party. On the concept, Lorde has said: The goal for me is to make a body of work that is cohesive, that feels like an album and is something that I going to be proud of t seems a lot of albums lately dont feel like a cohesive set of songs that complement each other and mean something as a group. If I can make something w. Pure Heroine is the debut studio album by New Zealand singer Lorde. It was released through Universal Music Group, Lava, and Republic on September 27, 2013. The album is the product of a collaboration between Lorde and producer Joel Little. After releasing her first EP The Love Club EP and its lead single Royals in 2013, the pair continued writing and producing material. Pure Heroine is a dream pop, electronica and electropop album built around minimal production, deep bass, and programmed beats. Yet Pure Heroine feels surprisingly real and fully formed, punching through sparse, cushily booming post-hip-hop tracks with vividly searching lyrics about growing up too fast that can seem at once arrogant and pensive. Were so happy even when were smiling out of fear, she sings on Tennis Court. Pure Heroine is a collection of throbbing, moody, menacingly anesthetized pop. On her debut album, 16 year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter Ella Yelich-O'Connor, aka Lorde, has fashioned herself as a correspondent on the front lines of elegantly wasted post-digital youth culture and working-class suburban boredom. In the current pop firmament, Lorde is a black hole. Lordes debut album, Pure Heroine, is full of pop songs that play like critiques of pop songs. Its dark, minimalist sound recalibrated pop music. Following the release of Lordes debut album, on 27 September 2013, it was near impossible to go out into a public setting and not hear Royals, the smash hit that made Lorde a household name and helped Pure Heroine become one of the biggest records of the year. Even if you havent heard Royals in years, its likely that just seeing the title has caused its slinky, subdued groove to worm its way back into your mind. Doesnt sound that bad, but its a bit compressed in comparison with the CD.
Got this used from a 2nd and Charles about a week ago. Playing it this morning I realized the track list is out of order. "Tennis Court" comes first on side B and the rest of side B is correct. "Team" comes first on side A and the rest of side A is correct. Also, both sides have the same label indicating side A. The errors on this are through the roof but the sound quality is good. Side A:Stamped: BD3048501A2 HLHand-etched: 375985And I can barely make out what looks like a hand-etched "SX"Side B:Stamped: BD3048501B2 HLHand-etched: 375985 And I can barely make out what looked like "SX" Anyone else have a copy like this?
One of the best audio quality I've ever had. Don't know why there are that big difference between them, like I see in comments.
Mine sounds great on an LP120 with AT120Eb Cartridge and AT-HS10BK Headshell, a few crackles but nice clean sound and plenty of bass
Played mine through an at-lp120 - It could not have sounded any cleaner. The 'made in germany' sticker was on the back shrink.
must have been a few bum batches, but my copy sounds amazing. so crispy and the bass is really strong.
Maybe I got really lucky. Just bought mine today, sounds good and I mean REALLY good. Crisp, clean and is dead quiet between tracks. Played through Rega RP1 with AT120Eb cartridge.
Sound quality is poor. I bought one record (sealed) and it sounded bad,so I sent it back. I got another and had the same issue. Then, I bought the clear vinyl, and it STILL sounded bad. I was really looking forward to this record. Now, The best thing about it is the sleeve.
Skip back and loops about 30 seconds into track 5. pops frequently across the record. Bought sealed and played on an AT LP5. Bullshit 140gram pressing - beware.
Perfect here. And sound quality is amazing.
I also purchased a new sealed copy with defects. Returned it and had the same problem. Sticker on front says "Made in Germany."
BEWARE ! Got a new an sealed copy with pressing defects: there are audible and visible surface impairments.
